How Yoga Transforms You

Here at Yogalaya, we are focused on True Yoga. We aim to look at Yoga as a whole and to keep the ancient and sacred teachings authentic and alive. Yoga has numerous paths, branches and benefits.

Many in the West focus primarily on asanas, the poses, the physical aspect of yoga. When we look at True Yoga, asanas are the least significant piece. When we focus just on the poses, this is a start, but it does not address the whole person or the union of body, mind and soul. For complete health and wellness, it is suggested we explore all that yoga has to offer, so we are balanced.

Imagine if we were training for a marathon and only worked our legs, what results would you expect. A better option would be to look at the whole picture: Mindset, Discipline, Nutrition, Cardio, Stretching and Rest Time. The same can be said for Yoga. When we focus in one area, there will be benefits, just like strengthening our legs but this does not lead to total health, balance, transformation and awakening.

There is no right and wrong in yoga, this is your journey, we only offer suggestions, you tune into what feels best and what works for you. The beauty in a Yoga practice is that it has so much to offer which is amazing as we are all so unique and what works for one, doesn’t necessarily work for another. With Yoga, there is something for everyone. If you are breathing, you can do yoga.
